United Way opened our Center for Opportunity shelter on April 20th, 2023, and is now looking for volunteers to help sponsor an evening meal.
Serving will begin at 6:30 p.m. If you need additional time to set up, prior to serving, we will have staff available to let you into the building at 6:00 p.m.
Please provide your phone number when signing up, so we have a way to contact you to confirm for your weekend.
United Way will provide all paper products including: plates, bowls, plastic silverware, napkins, extension cords, serving tables, platters, large serving bowls, serving utensils, etc.
The meal and items will need to be pre-purchased and prepped outside of the shelter, as we currently do not have a kitchen to accommodate a full meal prep. Meals can be as simple or as complex as you desire – for every item served, plan to have a volunteer in that place. Meals can consist of a main dish, side(s) dish, dessert, and beverage.
Please plan to provide food for upwards of 100 people. We have this meal open to clients, residents and those in need.
The shelter is located at 1140 S 12th St, Bismarck. You may park in the south parking lot, and enter the facility through Door #1.
This is a family-friendly volunteer opportunity – children, spouses and friends are welcome! If you choose to have children accompany you, please make sure they are with an adult at all times. If any volunteers are under the age of 18, we will provide a waiver form for them to sign along with their chaperone.
Thank you in advance for your support and for giving of your time!
