On Saturday, May 11, the National Association of Letter Carriers’, in partnership with MSA United Way, will hold the 27th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Last year, over 57,000 pounds of food was collected locally.
Letter carriers will be collecting nonperishable food items for more than 16 local food pantries. The collected food helps to supply local food pantries and United Way’s Backpack Program to ensure local children are fed over the weekends and when school is out of session. Residents will be provided with a plastic bag supplied by Dan’s Supermarket. The filled bags can be placed next to mailboxes on Saturday, May 11 and with the help of United Way volunteers, letter carriers will pick up the donations when delivering the mail that day. Volunteer today and make a difference tomorrow!
